The Association has five regional chapters. The headquarters of these chapters are in cities with geophysics–related institutions (universities, as in Miskolc; oil prospecting companies, as for Szolnok and the Zala Chapter; academic institutions, as the Geodetic and Geophysical Research Institute of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences for Sopron). See the introductory pages of them:

The Association has several sections or committees, some of these are for helping the activity of the Council ( e. g. Awards, Scientific, Nomination, etc.). These are presented at the Steering Committee pages. Three of them, however, have a special importance. Seniors' Club organises the social connections of the retired (but surely not inactive) members of the Association. The SPWLA (Society of Professional Well–Log Analysts) Budapest Chapter was established in 1992, its members are experts and engineers associated with petroleum exploration and production. The EAEG Budapest Chapter, founded recently in 2005, serves as the local unit of the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers.
